Overview

Lyme disease is becoming more prevalent in our area. Quite often, people ignore the symptoms (Fever, aches, flu like symptoms, loss of concentration)  until the disease has progressed to the point of being difficult to treat. People with Lyme are often misdiagnosed as having multiple sclerosis or other diseases. The symptoms and test results are often ambivalent.

You can become infected by the adult tick or the larva of the Lyme tick. The larva is not much larger than the period at the end of this sentence.

There are several things you can do to protect yourself against Lyme. If you can raise Guinea Hens and Chickens, that will go a long way toward reducing the Tick Population. Fencing helps as well as permethrin
