Quail for Tick Control

In addition to the Guineas and Chickens, we have been raising and releasing quail. The Pennsylvania Game Commission has some rules and regulations. You might want to check on the latest regs. As of now, you can raise and release quail as long as you aren't selling them.

Once you release them they will go out in the wild. If you have habitat they like, they will probably stay around

Raising the quail is about the same as raising guineas. The main difference is that, being smaller, they are a lot more fragile. Once they are in the wild, the quail seem to have better survival instincts.  They sleep in a group and will flush in all directions when startled.
